The world in reality is moving at the fastest rate and every person on this globe experiences it in every minute of his or her life. If that happens, the globe or world is interconnected or globalized. This means that the new idea of change that takes place in one part of the world is experienced by the whole world. The globalization actually broadens and deepens the interconnectedness worldwide among countries at the fastest rate in all aspects of life, both good and bad. This in reality is mainly driven by technology and information system through communication. The Pacific Island countries are made up of Melanesians, Polynesians and Micronesians. Each of these countries has its own culture and tradition. They once treasured them with dignity and utmost respect. They valued their cultures and traditions with great respect and honor. They had strong beliefs and customs in which men played dominant roles whilst women played inferior roles. Due to globalization, those beliefs, customs, traditions and cultures are gradually diminishing or dying. The way of dressing, our very own local languages and dignity and respect of the cultural heritage are all gone. As such we are vulnerable to rise in sea levels. If the developed countries continuously burning fossil fuels that contributes to the depletion of ozone layer, our small islands and atolls will be sunk in the sea and also pollute our fresh drinking water systems. Our people will be vulnerable to different kinds of diseases and infections from using polluted salty water for drinking, bathing and washing clothes.
