Euthanasia is the process of voluntary ending someone’s life, in a clinical environment. Euthanasia originally derives from a Greek term meaning good death, due to the fact that euthanasia it the process of ending someone’s life at a point in time that they could barely withstand the pain of the situation that they are in. Currently, euthanasia is illegal in Australia, but some Australian’s, mainly the older generation, are requesting the legalization of Euthanasia. Those who works in the field of life support for people may incorrectly use the materials used to save patients, therefore creating prolonged suffering, in an attempt to save someone’s life. In an attempt to save someone’s life, those who are applying the medication, may incorrectly apply the medication, causing new illnesses.
Euthanasia should be legislated in Australia for all people. Euthanasia should be allowed to be used for those who have a life threating disease or illness. If the illness is terminal then anyone over fifty years old should be able to apply for euthanasia.
