Despite the fact that New York City is famed for being blue, our mayor doesn't always claim the same trait. Many New Yorkers go into the voting booths planning to make their decisions based on their morals, future hopes, and cold hard facts.
Many people said that they chose de Blasio because of his promise to increase school funding. Charter school teacher, Kiara Delaney, 29, says that her vote went to the candidate that she felt would make the greatest effort to improve schools. “I want to make sure that the students are getting the best education they can and they have the resources to have that education,” said Delaney.
