All of us are born for a reason, not all of us discover what the reason is, but I have. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gained or accomplished for oneself, it is what you help others with what you gained or accomplished in life experiences. A person should never be afraid to do the right thing for someone, especially if that someone’s well-being is at risk. Society’s punishments are petty compared to the wounds people would impose on their soul when they turn their head and look the other way. Being a social worker is not an everyday job for some people, most can’t handle it. This is a type of job that takes a lot of hard work in helping people with situations that they don’t see every day. It takes a lot of self-awareness, as well as understanding verbal and nonverbal communication, along with listening. It is also important for a social worker to engage in policy practice. It is an aspect that can change the way things are done for clients in a good way or bad. If you want to be more affective in practice, advocating for policies is one way of making sure your clients receive what they deserve. Social workers help children and families in need of food, homes, health care and help with other social issues such as racism, substance abuse, violence and unemployment. There are many different types of social work, for instance there are mental health, child and family, and school social workers. Being a social worker has its advantages, for example social workers get to save children in bad situations. By following protocol, they can take the children out of a home, weather that is mental abuse or physical abuse. The social worker can find ways to help the family if they have an illness and cannot take care of the children, or have a substance problem and are unfit to care for the children. The social worker can also decide if the home is a safe environment for the child to grow and become a young healthy
