Our student section is always full, for the most part. When there’s a home game scheduled, many do not hesitate to attend. We have a big team and one with so much talent you wouldn’t believe. There are very few on the team who cannot dunk a basketball, that is quite impressive for the high school level. Many teams out there are utterly intimidated by our outstanding team.…

When I was fourteen my dad took me to a football game at the Carolina Panther stadium. The teams playing were the Packers and the Panthers. We were in the 500 section of the stands, which is on the fifty yard line, all the way up at the top. The seats were at such an angle that if you fell, you would fall right off the stands and down to the next row of seats fifty feet below.…

During my senior year in high school, my friend Jonathon George and I created a charity event called Hoops for the Cure. This event was made to acquire donations for members of the school population battling cancer. In days leading up to the event, students would travel to businesses asking for contributions for the cause. During school, offerings were also accepted in a drop off box. The main event was a basketball game between the Hempfield High School men’s team versus the Rec All Stars.…

and I would like to do it again next year. I liked being a part of a team and becoming closer to people that I was not friends with prior to joining the team. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the basketball team, even though we did not make it to the championship. We were not the best team, but together we had a lot of fun, became closer, and got better at the sport. In conclusion, I love to have experienced what it is like to be on a team, and make many new friends.…

The most recent college sporting event I have attended is the 2017 PAC 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, which is the annual concluding tournament for the NCAA college basketball in the PAC 12 Conference. The dates for this four day tournament were March 8-11, 2017, the times varied for different sessions and rounds with the earliest game starting at 12pm PT and the latest game starting at 8:30pm PT. The first round and quarterfinal round both consisted of four games each, while the semifinal round had two games and the final round of course one game. This event was hosted at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The target audience I believe were college basketball fans, especially fans of the PAC 12 conference.…

In the course of recent decades, college sports increase in fame over the United States. Whether it be football or basketball, following the time when the century's turn, intercollegiate athletics acquire an overflow of income to their separate universities, and expand the college's name. Undergrad athletes are vital towards colleges as they are behind the athletic program's surplus in income (Nocera 1). These competitors are set to play which results in obtaining revenue to the university, yet players aren't remunerated with any money. Athletes are working for the schools and are supporting the school that appears to go unnoticed.…

Why should I be selected as Homecoming Queen? It is funny that you asked. This is a question that I have asked myself since freshman year when I saw my first UNCG Homecoming. How elegant, graceful and astute she appeared. Quite frankly, I could say I should be selected because I want it endearingly, but then again, whom would apply if not because she wanted it, craved it, desired it so lovingly?…

If you follow college basketball closely you will know of the one and done rule that plagues players and college universities. If you have never heard of this rule it basically states that any player wanting to go into the NBA must first complete one year of college. According to Alex Berg of USA Today, the NCAA has drifted away further than ever from the literal meaning of student-athletes. Now, high-profile basketball players are being treated as guests(Berg). This can cause the university 's graduation rate to lower.…
