Many people think the only reason for going to college is to make more money. According to the U.S. National Center for Education Statistics going to college for more money was third on the list of students surveyed. Students, however, offered several other reasons for attending college: to find my purpose in life, to get training for a specific job, to make me a more cultured person. The benefits of college encompass many areas, none of which have to do with making more money. One benefit of attending college is to help you to communicate better. Feldman, author of P.O.W.E.R. Learning, reported that eighty percent of students that went to college were going so they can learn about things that interested them. If a student is learning about something that interests them then it is easier for them to learn and stay focused. It will make them aware that learning is a rewarding and never ending journey.
