About 1.4 million dogs are adopted each year and roughly 650,000 animals are returned to their owners after entering a shelter (Pet Statistics). Would you adopt from a rescue organization? Because There are many benefits to adopting a dog from an animal rescue, health, ethical and financial reasons are great reasons to adopt a dog. When you are considering adopting a rescue dog or puppy the first thing you probably think of is how much the vet bill is going to be after you adopt them to get fixed and all the shots. Well that 's one of the benefits of adopting from a rescue, all the dogs should have all their first round shots and be fixed. Getting the dog spayed/neutered usually happens after they are eight weeks old. Getting the dog fix or spay/neuter just means they can no longer reproduce. Shots are vaccinations and it keeps them from getting illnesses. Shots ensure that they will help the dog live a long, healthy life. Also It is cheaper to adopt a dog from a rescue because everything is included in the price that you pay.
