Due to many elderly becoming more vulnerable as they become older they will have a higher chance of becoming targeted and broken into. This can result for the thief’s to get what they want due to many elderly not having the ability to defend themselves. However this issue can be resolved as the elderly can access resources that can ensure they are kept safe. Resources that the elderly can use to ensure the safety of their surroundings include installing personal security such as an alarm system. The aged need to make sure that they are with someone at all times or if not they should have a strategy to escape any issues that they may come across. This is important to the elderly as they can sometimes feel let down if they think that they mean nothing because they cannot work and have to change their lifestyle. This thought can result into the elderly’s sense of identity to feel that they don’t belong in this world and can lead to their wellbeing to be affected physically, socially and emotionally. From the elderly changing their lifestyle which can mean time away from paid work and being more independent pursuing personal interest. . The aged still want to feel needed, respected and to contribute to others welfare. By society accepting the elderly’s for who they are can ensure that their self-esteem level is at a maintained level and they would not be put down by other people perception of them. If the elderly are not excluded by society and by the society making them feel like there belong by including them in events can ensure that their overall wellbeing is maintained and that they can still have the courage to continue to pure there interest in other dreams. However being older leads to lifestyle changes that include a decrease in time spent at paid work and an increase in time spent pursuing personal interests. As a result, an individual’s in this case the elderly’s sense of identity may change or even cause them to question who they are and what they do. This is why it is important for
