Ever since a school district in Pennsylvania shortened school to a four-day week, several other schools have done the same. There may be some negative effects, but there are plentiful positive effects. Studies show that a four-day school week not only saves money, but also helps students with their academic study. A four-day school week can help students perform better, give them more time to interact with their family, and can give them more time for extracurricular activity. First of all, a four-day school weekend helps students perform better in school. Research shows that 4th and 5th graders scored higher in math. Not only is the increase limited to elementary schools. Kids of all ages achieved a higher GPA (grade point average)
