Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, generally ranging from birth to 18 years of age. Being a pediatrician would help society because they help keep kids healthy. In 2011, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimated that general pediatricians earned roughly $168,650. In the past, pediatricians have been paid less than most other doctors. But as doctors, pediatricians are paid more than many workers in the United States. Most like what they do, according to surveys, pediatricians are very happy with the work they do.
