Improved Essays
In a disarmingly simple process, my fascinating journey has opened up a new way of looking at the world. The experience I have gained have empowered me to change my practices, discover my needs, strengths, weaknesses and what makes me tick as an individual, untying plenty of knots and ambiguous misconceptions throughout the process. It all started whilst working on the group project, in general, I dislike teamwork, even though I understand the benefits and advantages of teamwork for businesses. My outlook towards it is motivated by numerous explanations which, in my opinion, do not speak in favour of teamwork. Among other reasons I must mention individuals differ by a number of parameters, which are somewhat difficult to put together and/or calculate, for example intellectual capabilities, experience, time …show more content…
However, this course has given me the opportunity to learn and apply numerous methods that proved effective in the group project assignment, namely, shifting leadership roles, assigning explicit obligations, having a positive atmosphere and freedom of discussions/disagreements with a clear unity of purpose. All objectives presented to us were broken down and discussed openly and freely within our team, until each member had a clear obligation for a part of the objective. Our effectiveness as a team enabled us to be self-conscience about our work, which allowed us to be acquainted with any mistakes fellow colleagues were making whilst completing an objective.

The success of our team was influenced by key aspects, including correct team roles task, with no unnecessary stress placed on anyone, which prompted everyone being involved and interested. We also have had our fair share of occasional

The main challenge of this group situation is that there was a sudden rise of conflict among members at the beginning to mid phase of the project. This resulted the possible development of groupthink (Janis, 2008). As a leader in this situation, I would firstly feel lousy and disappointed in myself that I didn’t take note of group’s division and how the meeting could be more inclusive of everyone’s opinion (Chadha, 2016). However, at that point, I would also probably feel confused but yet curious as to why it was suddenly voiced out, hence thought that I should facilitate to explicit the thoughts and feelings of each member to better understand as well.…

We formed the group of four people promptly and waited for the topic to be assigned. The topic was assigned in week 9, while in other courses we knew all our topics for group assignments from week 3. Not only the topic for group project was assigned late, but I never had a chance to see the marking rubric and, therefore, to know the instructor’s expectations about my work. Despite the tight deadlines, our group equally divided the workload among four people and started to research the literature about the topic.…

It also turned out to be one of the more challenging group projects I’ve ever worked on at the University of Washington, not only because of the task but also because of the group dynamic. Looking back on that project, I think it could have been a lot smoother had we designated very specific roles much earlier in the quarter and had one administrator to put together everyone’s work and to make sure people were actually doing their assigned work. That project was also the first time I’ve worked on a project that required a significant amount of design creativity, in which everyone had to express and argue for their ideas, while also always keeping the client in mind. As for, Maple Valley, coming into the practicum having a better idea of what was expected of our group, I felt much more confident in our work. Coming in and being able to ask Matt Torpey the right questions also got us off to a good start, I think that was one of our bigger issues winter quarter is that our group didn’t even know what it was we wanted to know.…

Socially group work is often praised. With phrases like “two heads are better than one”, team work seems like the most logical choice for a project. This has not been my experience at Florida State University. When faced with the prospect of another involuntary group project I imagined many possibilities and outcomes. None of which reflect my actual experience with the research I conducted, the way the information was formatted, or my experience with Group 3.…

The hardships of life can be cruel and unforgiving for the average individual. Sickness, depression, and anger swarm the lives of every human being while some have it better than others. However, the unity of those people can be beneficial for themselves and also the world. Teamwork is a major theme within the book Rash. Over numerous years of schooling the idea that if we do not succeed then we fail has become ingrained into our minds. This mentality has prevented a multitude of people from learning from their mistakes; however, if students learn to recognize their mistakes not as a failure, but as a lesson to learn from, we could all improve ourselves. During my third season on my lacrosse team I was a varsity midfielder. Our team was in the playoffs preparing to play the number one team, Rockhurst.…

Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public. Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
