“The Benefit of Knowing Your Students” Why does one decide to become a teacher. According to Hagstrom et al., ““teaching is like the ocean in that it covers most of the surface and seeps into much of what I will be doing” (Hagstrom et al., 2000, p. 25). My opinion on education is that the learning experience is different for everyone. As a teacher who is responsible for another generation. We should be very passionate about our job. Teachers should also understand how important their title and occupation is. This is why it is important to be genuinely passionate about teaching. This goes back to having passion for what you are doing in the classroom with your students. If you have this passion, you will genuinely want to know your student and care for them. When you show the student that you care they will gain respect for you. They also will become a better listener. This will have your students paying attention to not just your words but your action, so we must set examples so that the students knows the proper morals and ethics. Teachers should not be prejudice to share and listen to other teacher’s ideas and continues to learn as a teacher. Because this will help give better craft while giving the best education that a teacher can give their students. I have made the choice to be a teacher, I want to be a honest teacher for my students.
