Benefit Of Joining Band In Schools

Quite a few students around the midpoint of the 2016-2017 school year have approached me about joining band. Needless to say. I would love to have them! The administration, and myself understand the importance of music in schools, including the long-term benefits in the classroom. For example, it is proven that students who play a musical instrument perform better in math and science on standardized testing. But, our major goal is to give students the opportunity to attend college, and have some type of scholarship to help alleviate the ever-rising cost of college expenses, and music/band is an avenue towards making that happen.
