Beneficial For Children To Have Siblings Research Paper

The beneficial for children to have siblings is that most of them are an only child that are describing themselves with others. While others whether they like it or not they are stuck with having siblings. I most likely disagree by children having one sibling because they don’t exactly get to chose if they want another sibling or not. For starters those who are an only child usually always get tired of either being alone or not having someone to play with. Unless you may be a spoiled child. I would say that you most likely get bored often and start to want another sibling to be around with. Being an only child you see a lot of families with their kids having fun and you may start to think of how you would like to have that. One thing you could also do is compare yourself with others kids as in your friends or even family. You see how you are different from others and how you can do different things from others. …show more content…
Even if you have a sibling that you may always fight or argue with or simply don’t get along with at the end of the day you will. It’s great to have siblings because you will not get bored as much as being a single child and have someone to help you around. For example, if they are older than you it’s a better chance for them to help you when you have homework that they’ve already had or know how to do it they can help you. Or simply to help you with anything that you need when you are having a bad day and will help to cheer you up. Other than all the helping, you get to spend time with your family have a good laugh every now and then. Enjoying that you get to have a lot of memories while y'all grow up together and then you look back at it and realize how you like to be and have siblings after

Being an older child in a family does not always have its benefits. Sometimes it puts you at a disadvantage when having younger brothers/sisters. Your parents might let them get away with more than they ever let you get away with, or they might even take up for them more than they would you. Having your parents and relatives take up for them in times that you know they should be either upset or disappointed in them might make you try to point it out to them. It would create an internal battle with your emotions for your brother/sister and your parents and relatives.…

When my first sibling was born, my role as a child changed. I took on the role as a leader and was very protective of my sister. This is one of the reasons why I think it is in my nature to be a “Mama Bear” and it could be the reason why I strive to be the best person that I could be because I know that I have someone looking up to me. This also could be the reason why I am never really that jealous of my siblings. I always wish to show the idea of love to them.…

Due to the assumptions made, often children with ASD are believed to have disrupted sibling relationships, however data from Petalas, Hastings, Nash and Duff shows that adolescents report seemingly typical sibling interactions (2013). This is important because positive sibling relationships have been shown to positively influence concepts of self (as cited in Dunn and Plomin 1990). In three sub themes examined in Petalas, Hastings, Nash and Duff’s work there were surprisingly unremarkable and characterized by an absence of any explicit or implicit reference to ASD. Conflict was the first sub theme examined, where the adolescents frequently reported being discontent with how their sibling relationships had changed in recent years.…

According to an article by Margaret Ward, titled “ Why Should Sibling Groups Be Kept Together in Adoption”, “separating brothers and sisters is an actual form of emotional abuse” (Ward). Siblings that are placed into foster care go through enough mistreatment, therefore separating them will just add more stress, damage and separation problems to their daily lives. Siblings come as pairs, so to take one and not the other should be forbidden. An article titled The Psychological Consequences of Separating Siblings in Foster Care by Dr. Waln Brown states that, “foster care children deprived of sibling connections are more likely to act out or even endure mental health issues in the care of strangers” (The Chronicle of Social Change). These children go from being together to a foreign environment.…

“Only 8% of workers in private sectors benefit from paid leave” (Sylvia Guendelman 1). If you work, you should be able to take time off to take care of a newborn, both mothers and fathers. As a child, I was a complete and total brat: spoiled, bossy, emotional, you name it, and it was probably an adjective that could be used to describe me. I always had to be the center of attention at every event or family gathering; however, no one seemed to mind because I was pretty stinking cute as well. I was the favorite niece, grandchild, cousin, and everything in-between. I may be pretty vain in admitting this, but what else would you expect from an only child? Yep, that’s right.…
