Narrator 1- “You may know of America’s greatest heroes in the Revolutionary War. George Washington, Lafayette, Von Steuben, and Nathan Hale are a few. But do you know of the traitors and villains? Some people went over to the opposite side and betrayed the colonies. They would do it for fame, revenge or other personal reasons. One of these people was Benedict Arnold, a general in the Continental Army and the first American traitor. However, he did do many good deeds and because of lack of recognition he turned.”

Narrator 1- “Arnold’s life started simple and happy in Norwich, Connecticut. He was a mischievous little boy who played lots of pranks and took tons of risks.”

When I grow up, I’m going to be a true hero and be remembered for centuries!” (Carves his initials into a nearby tree) “Someday I’ll go farther than them all. They think I am going to grow up rotten but I will show them that I will grow up great!”
Narrator 1- “How right he was but in the wrong way. As Arnold grew up, he became more ambitious and daring. He later opened an apothecary and general store in his hometown after being kicked from school. He was a shorter man but what he lacked in height, he made up for in attitude.” (Young Benedict and Benedict Arnold switch places on stage. We are in a sort of store.) Employee comes on stage. Benedict is furious.
Employee~ “Sir, pardon me, but we’re nearly out all of our supplies, and we are lacking what the townspeople demand! Hardly anybody wants anything anymore as well!”
Benedict Arnold- “Why are my supplies not selling and running out at the same time? This is an outrage. I shall find out who is responsible!”
Employee- “Sir, I believe it’s Britain’s fault. (Holds up Stamp Act and Sugar Act papers) They’ve been taxing us relentlessly.”
Benedict Arnold- “Those dirty lobsterbacks! (Slams fist into palm) They’re ruining my reputation and our rights. They’ve already done enough with that Boston Massacre of some sort. I must do something about …show more content…
I have found a fort in New York. It is called Fort Ticonderoga. We should try to penetrate their defenses and take it over. It will not be difficult, because they don’t guard the fort very well.” George Washington- “Are you sure that we will not lose a lot of men in the battle,
