Ben Franklin: The Qualities Of A Successful Man

Ben Franklin was a man born on October 18, 1785 who struggled at a young age with being ignored and thought as a servant from his older brother while in the printing industry. In the Autobiography about Ben Franklin, it talks about his life and the steps he overcame to be a successful man. Two traits that contributed to Ben Franklin's success are being resourceful and determined. These attributes help him in life to keep his head up and stay positive, even during rough times.
When Ben was in business with his brother in the printing house, he always tried to get him and his friends that also worked there to recognize his writings. All of Ben’s submitted work would always get archived before they could be read, which discouraged him. Therefore, Ben came up with a way for them to be read, which was writing anonymously. Ben wrote up one of his pieces and slid it under the door of the printing house, so it

Ben understood that we was good at what he did, so he offered his work to a printing business in the city. This was named old Mr. William Bradford the first printing company and due to his early job he thought this would be perfect. Unfortunately, even though he tried putting himself out there, Ben was denied because there was not particular job that would fit him. Even though he was put off, the man did refer him to business and so Ben was off on another journey. An additional time to where Ben was resourceful was when he asked a lady for advice, whom he had bought gingerbread from before. After talking the woman offered Ben to stay in her house until the next ship to Philadelphia came around. He quickly accepted the invitation was brought to the house where she fed him dinner.
