While there he meets Joe, now Miss Swallows ex, who want Ben to help him get Miss Swallow back, which he agrees to. His father finds out he knits, and is mad that Ben lied to him, his dad leaves the house for a couple days. The principle finds out about his account on a buy and sell website, where Ben sells his knitting, and offers him a studentrenuership (student entrepreneurship). Joe asked him about how he should et Miss Swallow back and Ben gives her a sweater he knit as a gift from Joe. Since he might be accepted for the studentreprenuership, it is announced to the school, as well as the fact thats he is a knitter. Ben finally goes to the AUKKC-JC,Junior Competition, and Jeanette is back and now apparently from another city. This time they are knitting a stranded color work cozy, which Ben thinks he is terrible at. During the knitting period, a bully from his school, Manning, shows up with his little “gang” and gets into a fight with Ben’s friends Gex, Freddie, and Joz, Mrs. Frensham joins in as well to chase them away. After the fight, everything resumed as it was, but Ben didn't finish the cozy. There is still one more activity, and Ben aces that by making a sweater of his own creation called the Hoopie. Ben doesn’t get first place, Jeanette does, but soon after she is disqualified for entering two competitions, so by default Ben gets first place.
