The boys complained and they became hurt that she had taken watching television down to only two programs but they got the hang of it. They started to be more interested in reading rather than watching the programs. Ms. Carson said, “you have to work harder. You have to use that good brain that God gave you, Bennie. Do you understand that” (603)? Him learning to improve his education can get the answers right. By Carson saying a name of the rock which was obsidian right everybody in his class and even his teacher looked surprised that he knew the answer since he got called the dumbest kid in school. Having Carson’s dad leave was a heart breaking moment but he still managed to pull through. Having Ms. Carson right there to be his inspiration in life. That made me realize that with even losing someone one doesn’t always have to give up and always keep trying. When Carson’s father left he managed to pull through and having his mom by his side was pulling him back up was an inspiring moment. Hence, being inspired can do a lot for one, to make every item worth
