Ben Carson can help America by being a president unconcerned about being reelected or politically correct, yet he will be a president who will work towards actually helping preserve America. People may not want to vote for Ben Carson because he does not have political experience, yet other candidates lack political experience as well. While he may not have political experience, Ben Carson definitely has experience as a leader. According to the speech Carson gave when he announced his campaign for the presidency, he has been on several large company’s boards like Kellogg and Costco. Also, he and his wife run a successful national non-profit scholarship fund which thrives in all fifty states (“Dr. Ben Carson Presidential”). Next, many argue Ben Carson lacks knowledge about foreign policy definitely in terms of military management. Some say Ben Carson is so naive about some specific policies; he should not be president. Just because he is inexperienced, does not mean Carson thinks he should not worry about foreign policy. Carson wants to be up to date on what the army is doing and should do. Carson has said in an interview he is working hard to read up, so he can learn all he should to be a knowledgeable president (Levine). Finally, people may say Ben Carson should not be president because he is bias with his religious views. For example, Carson said he disagrees with the idea of a Muslim being a president, yet he thinks people should be able to practice their own faith. His meaning behind what he stated is he thinks Islamic beliefs do not align with the Constitution (Worland). When put into this perspective, what he said might be more understandable, but it would have to be assessed whether or not that specific Muslim would abide by the constitution. However, a Muslim would have the right to run for the Presidency and Carson a right not to support him or her since both have a right to have religious opinions. So, while many may argue he would be a poor president for these reasons, Carson still is a promising candidate in the 2016
