“Parenting is the most important role of life, this I believe.” -Ben. Carson looked up to his mother as a role model. Carson’s mother had a big impact on his life, he says she is the reason he is where he is now. Ben carson’s dad left him when he was at a young age. Carson’s mother turned his whole life around. Carson is very famous for his hand-eye coordination skills. Ben’s mother made him work until all his homework was done, she had strict rules. With hard work,focus,and many stumbles in the road, Dr. Benjamin Carson became a very successful neurosurgeon still today.

Carson was at the bottom of his class,but, he soon came to the top of the class in no time (“Academy of Achievement” 1). In 1984,when he was thirty-three years old, Carson became the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University (“Politics” 1). Ben carson successfully achieved a twenty-two hour surgery (“Academy of Achievement” 1). Carson also led the surgery with a seventy member team by his side (“Academy of Achievement” 1). In 2008,President George W. Bush honored Carson with the Presidential Medal of Freedom (“Politics” 1). Carson is the only doctor who successfully separated conjoined twins at the head (Menard 1). Ben also successfully published his New York Times-Seller One Nation in 2014 (“Politics” 1). In two-thousand eight, the White House announced that Benjamin Carson would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom ( “Politics” 1). Carson also earned a spot to be the director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Hopkins (“Politics” 1). Carson successfully gave a famous 2013 National Prayer Breakfast speech (“Politics” 1). Dr. Ben carson also successfully spoke at Liberty University’s Wednesday convocation about the importance of standing up for your beliefs ( “Liberty” 1). Carson has sixty honorary doctorates and holds one of the twenty foremost positions in science, according to both CNN and TIME magazine. (“Liberty” 1).
