Ben Carson: From Neurosurgeon to President
From director of pediatric neurosurgery, to American author, and finally, to the president of the United States, will I be able to do it all?! At the age of sixty-three, I have decided to push myself one more time and take a final leap to run for the forty-fifth president of the United States. As an affiliated neurosurgeon, journalist, and philanthropist, I have an assortment of beliefs regarding education, politics, and health care; I will use my beliefs to run for the 2016 United States presidency.
I have confidence in the power of education; due to my tough childhood, multiple medical breakthroughs, and dedication to children, I support STEM education. I had a hard childhood growing up, and yet I still persevered. I worked extremely hard and overcame my rough childhood to eventually become the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in 1985 (“Ben Carson”). I have multiple medical breakthroughs from my time at Johns Hopkins. I tend to donate a lot of money towards education (“Our Impact”). With a little hard work, all children can persevere.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. An individual should try to get involved in as many areas as possible throughout their life.
