Belonging didn't really occur to me in middle school years. I was a very comfortable person with my friends and my surroundings. It only occurred to me at the beginning of my senior years that the friends I had were hypocritical and weren't the best people to hang out with. talking behind peoples back in their own friendship group and gossiping about the same people everyday wasn’t really my scene. After I left those friends I felt lost and confused like i hadn't really planned who i was going to be friends with and what I was going to do next. Luckily I had a nice friend who was in my english class at the time who showed me her group of friends and they were all really nice to me and welcoming. At the time I still felt like I didn't belong
