I never saw myself to be part of a minority due to coming from a small border town whose population is predominately made up of Hispanics, specifically Mexican-Americans. Born and raised to Mexican immigrant parents my upbringing was mainly integrated into the Mexican culture. That being said my first language is Spanish which in return is mainly spoke In the border town of Brownsville, Texas. When growing up, I would speak Spanish most of the time towards my friends, family and even strangers.To me speaking my mother tongue was something that came naturally.
