Belly Dance Analysis

This week, I decided to step out of my comfort zone, and I went Sophia's Dance Studio. In the dance studio, the Jennifer Mollenhauer instructed the belly dancing class. In belly dancing class, the instructor provides guidance, patience and educational in the class. The class schedule was recapped, stretching, fundamental movement, routine, and wind down. Personally, I like the class schedule. First off, I like how instructor shows the fundamental movement and explain the moves. The secondly, I enjoyed middle eastern music. Lastly. I like the pace of the class. On the other hand, I was more frustrated with myself. When the class begins the routine, I struggled with fluid movements. I was not drench, but my body felt warm with sweat. Normally, sweat will drop off my forehead. My body shake when I tried a new move. Frequently, I lost my balance, but I was not discouraged. The belly dancing was medium intensity, but I can see how belly dancing was high intensive dance. In belly dancing, you would want to increase your stamina, endurance, and leg strength. As a result, belly dance created an empowering exercise. As the article state, belly dancing has health benefits. The health benefits were improved posture, muscle toning, weight loss, preparation for childbirth, stress reduction, and aiding digestion (Student, n.d.). The belly dancing was associate with seduction, but seduction dance was conduct in modern day (Aleenah, n.d.). Th article reported three theories on belly dancing origin. Belly dancing was religious dance and performed during fertility rituals by temple priestesses (Aleenah, n.d.). The secondly belly dancing prepared girls for labor (Aleenah, n.d.). The lastly, belly dancing descended from ancient Egyptian (Aleenah, n.d.). At initially, belly dancing was a piece of Arabic culture, and in the old-time ladies and men did not dance together (Aleenah, n.d.). the dance style has moved from country to
