Bella Movie Essay

The movie, Bella, features two main characters: Jose and Nina. Jose is a man who grew up living a pretty much awesome life. As a child, he lived with his two very loving parents and his adopted brother Manny. His home life was great and he was a wonderful soccer player, which eventually landed him a contract with a sum of somewhere over 2 million dollars. Jose’s life, however, was turned upside down after a horrific accident and now he works in a restaurant owned by his brother, Manny. Manny is hard to love or even like. He runs a very tight ship and does not really care about anybody - this is a direct contrast from Jose. Jose cares about everybody and is always worrying about the wellbeing of others, particularly, Nina. Nina was a co-worker who was fired by Manny after being late. He planned on being the head chef for his brother, his decision to walk out on him and go after Nina right before rush hour quickly changed that plan. Nina planned on getting an abortion, Jose’s decision to show him different aspects of his life quickly changed that plan. The main decision that brought Jose to the final scene on the beach was a decision that I do not believe most would be able to make. In order to stop Nina from getting an abortion, Jose agreed to adopt the child if Nina delivered it. Jose never pressured her into any decisions, he just gave her options. He did not tell her what to do, but he convinced her to make the right decision. The final scene on the beach of Jose and Bella playing together right before Nina meets Bella for the first time only happened because of this huge decision. Jose is a great man and an even better
