Perception is defined as the process with which individuals detect and interpret environmental stimuli. Visual perception goes beyond the information physically given. Meaning, that perception is like a portrait of what we think we see, or what our expectations are towards someone or something. Before working for Belk, I was a regular customer and enjoyed my experience shopping there and developed close friendships with many employees over the years.
