The belgian people celebrate Christmas, as most of the population of people are Catholics. There are two Santa Claus figure: St Nicholas and Pere Noel. Depending upon which part of Belgium people live in, they have different ways of celebrating Christmas. The cultures can be similar to the Dutch, French, and the German. People apply the Dutch tradition in the North, French traiton in the south, and the German tradition in the northeast. The Belgians have their own customs to follow on Mardi Gras. Dutch is commonly specified as Flemish as it has a great diversity of dialects depending on the pronunciation and the vocabulary differences. Although, the primary language in Belgium is Dutch, which is spoken by nearly 60 percent of the population. Another language that is used for communication in Belgium is French which is, in fact the second most spoken language in Belgium, with over 30 percent of the population using it.
Three famous, traditional games played in Belgium include Belgian Darts, Corsage, and Rolle Bolle.
Belgian Darts:
Belgian Darts or Darts was a more modern version of Vogelpik which is the game where two men, side-by-side, hold four, stuffed-birds, each having a needle on the end. Then they throw it towards a board mounted on the wall. However, the difference is that instead of throwing stuffed birds, the competitors through feathered darts. The objective of Belgian Darts is to accumulate the most points amongst the five rounds. The points are determined by a variation of colored rings, that circle around, on the board.
