Belbin's Nine Roles In Groups

Decent Essays
Class,
Belbin says when "there is a balance of primary roles and when team members know their roles, work to their strength, and actively manage weakness." There are nine different roles that a member in a group can play, coordinator (the person who clarifies group goals), shaper (encourages the group to make decisions), innovator (provides a plan for the group), resource investigator (explores opportunities for the group), monitor (analyzes problems), implementer (helps to develop action plans), teamworker (gives personal support and help to others), completer (helps team to stay on schedule), and specialist (provides unique or rare expertise). I would say that the role often find myself in is the role of the coordinator and/or teamworker.
