Everyday may not be a good day but there is good in everyday. In high school there will be tough times but there will always be someone there that will help other students through it. When in high school some might have a hard time adjusting, but just know that it is okay for them to actually say something and they won’t be judged or anything. At the beginning of the freshmen year I was lost and I didn’t know where my second hour war and I didn’t think that I needed to ask for help, I ended up in the my third hour when I was supposed to be in second, and I didn’t realize that until half way through the hour. In one of my classes I have this teacher that didn’t do things the way that I could actually understand so instead of actually trying the homework I just didn’t do it at all. So when he would check it in I didn’t have it. He then put it all in the grade book as zeros so my grade was brought down a lot. And so when test time came around I didn’t know what to do but then I realized that if I actually attempt the homework then I would actually know what I was doing. I always have followed the saying “if you work hard in life now you will not have to work as hard later.” This saying applies not only to how I work during school now, but how I participate in activities outside of school. To excel in what you want to achieve in life, I believe you need to put in the best effort and try your best in whatever you do. Living by this idea has helped me become a leader in the things I do. It has helped me put others at the same standard as myself and it helps me show my character.…

My initial thoughts on Shelley is she is distracting her classmates and teacher to distract others from noticing the difficulties she has with math. One reasons she might not be doing well is because of her lack of resources in order to be successful in math, such as tutoring, or parents who encourage her to do well in school. Another possibility is that she has a math learning disability that is undiagnosed. Students who have undiagnosed learning disabilities tend to do poorly because they are not given the accommodations they need to be successful. Shelley’s might have little motivation to do well, but her failure in the past might have diminished it.…

Success and failure, even in the smallest of things affects us in ways we never thought they would. Failure, as much as it hurts, is an important part of life. Not only is it imperative to know how it affects us, but also how we can use it to better us, instead of bringing us down. A study done (Madsen, P. M., & Desai, V., 2010) to see if organizational performance is driven by learning from success found that failure is usually more beneficial for people in the long run. Instead of feeling like a failure or setback, individuals can gain motivation from the failure in order to succeed next time, and through the process gain further knowledge and inspiration.…
