Self acceptance is the greatest gift we can give ourselves. We as people crave the approval of others, without realizing that we only need our own approval. We let people views on us shape what we think of ourselves. Each of us lives in a universe that revolves around yourself. When we are if anything, just a blip on the radar. We are innately selfish, preoccupied with what others think, when the only opinion that matters the most is our own. I acknowledge that loving yourself is a difficult task, and it takes time to become aware of our worth. I myself am still in the dawn of becoming at peace with who I am. Every layer of me might not be beautiful but we are all growing everyday. I recognize this, and I accept it. Being kind to yourself is as important as being kind to others. If you choose or need seek approval look to those you care for most, because if anyone knows you it’s probably them. But know that you are unique and different in a million ways and comparing yourself is a failed tactic. If I could give advice to someone younger than me, I would let them know that you have to have a great deal of experience in order to come to the realization that you are good as you are; as E.E. Cummings said,“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” Its difficult to overcome some things but you learn and make mistakes for good reasons. Mistakes are what form you as a better person. You have to forgive yourself, be willing to make a change and own your mistakes for what they are. Continue to be mindful of others, but do not judge. When you have nothing to hide and you can freely be yourself with everyone. There is a profound peace and confidence that comes along with it, and you will exude it to the
