Being Judged

We all had one of those gut feelings that someone is watching us, watching our every move, just waiting to laugh at our failures and mistakes ,and that someone could be sitting right next to you. Little do we know, almost every human being faces judgment each and every day! But the real question is should we be afraid of it? The answer to that is of course not! First things first, we all must learn to accept that fact that being judged is the norm in today’s world and that no matter how hard you try none of us can escape the fact that we are viewed differently in each individuals’ minds. What if you can’t be yourself? Or what if you cannot let go of the fear that comes with being judged? To some of us it’s not that easy, especially for me. …show more content…
But little did I know even as an eleven year old kid, judgment was around every corner. For example, during recess after lunch all the guys in my class would head to the basketball court outside to play a good game of basketball and each of us knew who we wanted to be on our team. So we would pick two captains and the rest of us would line up on the fence waiting to be picked based on our skills we each possessed. I was normally the third or fourth person picked to go on a team because I was a good shooter however, when it came down to the last two people left on the fence, the captains would have to choose one or the other even though basketball was not their sport. Eventually, they both stopped playing with us because they always knew they will be picked last because they did not have the skills that the captains wanted. This is a perfect example of how even children judge other kids! I mean as an eleven year old I didn’t know that they were being judged or how they felt when they decided not to play anymore but, I now know that they were afraid, afraid of being viewed as “not good” when it came to the
