Independent. When I was younger, I really wasn’t an “independent” type of person. I always seemed to rely on someone else, and could never seem to do things on my own. Like always expecting my mother would have a home cooked meal when I came home from school in third and fourth grade. Or when I when I got older, say twelve or thirteen years old, -about the time I was able to do stupid things with my stupid friends- when I relied on my father to give me an allowance of 20 dollars every week. But now, at the age of seventeen, with a job for over a year now that has pretty much sucked since the beginning, I am trying to be as independent as possible, but man is it hard. In today’s day and age, nothing, absolutely nothing in this world is free. Someone is always paying for something, no matter what it is. So in my opinion, the first rule of becoming independent and living a happy life on your own is to have a source …show more content…
Is it an old jack in the box toy? You know, the ones we used to wind up and they would POP out! Maybe it’s an old jester with a smiling mask on playing tricks from back in the medieval times? Or if you’re kind of a superhero freak like myself, you get a crazy flash picture through your mind of that sinister smile of red and white face paint, and slick green hair. Yes, Gotham City’s very own clown, The Joker. The batman series has always been a fan favorite of mine, and the Joker has defiantly been a close favorite villain of mine also, runner up to Darth Vader being my all-time favorite villain. But throughout the live action movies with The Joker Being present such as Health Ledger in The Dark Knight, or Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's “Batman” or as Suicide squad approaches closer, Jared Leto’s joker, Its always been a pet peeve of mine how each one of their jokers had a different sort of personality and style when it came to playing “The Joker” and I never understood

Superheroes are a common thing in movies, TV, and especially comic books. These people fight for what’s right in the world, saving people from untimely death and stopping the terror caused by their rivals. These rivals are evil: they have an arsenal of weapons that they’re not afraid to use, and of course harbor a twisted mind and a twisted conscience. These Supervillains, as they’re called, have come and gone over the years, each one possessing a certain amount of talent and skill at their dirty craft. Some have been better than others.…

In the movie The Dark Knight, Batman fits the character type description of being continent. He struggles with his appetitive part and desires to get rid of the Joker, but really the only way of doing that is by killing him. However, the Batman endures through the temptation and does not give in to his desire to kill the Joker. On the other hand, the Joker would fit the vicious type of character in the movie. He consistently does the villainous deeds, that they have become a habit for him.…

In My opinion The Joker is the best villain. Why some of you may ask that? Well my reasoning for choosing The Joker is becuase, the joker is very smart, He knows how to figure out all of his enemies weaknesses, and he also knows how to out smart or out think other people. Hes very quick and intelligent. Batman is also very fast and smart, But he thinks he is smarter than the joker so when the joker has a plan and batman thinks he can beat the joker hes left dazed and confused at the end when he notices at the end that the joker set him up, and out smarted him.…

Black is the presence of no color, pure darkness. When most people think of darkness they think of evil and non heroic tasks. When people think about Batman, what do people think he is a hero or a villain? He puts signs throughout the movie showing he doesn’t want to be a hero, but yet does not want to be a villain. The color black helps him symbolize his way of being the “dark knight” he chooses to be.…

When someone is very angry they either go for a walk, isolate themselves from others, or vent to someone about their problems. They would not go terrorizing the public harming innocent people. Someone having a problem is called antisocial personality disorder which sometimes can be describe as sociopathy. According to Landfield, “Antisocial personality disorder is a condition that describes a constellation of interpersonal, emotional, and behavioral functioning marked by deceit, lack of guilt and empathy, and callous disregard for the welfare of others” (par 3). The Joker from the film Batman is a psychotic anarchist who brings chaos to the people to find Batman, and this is an example of antisocial personality disorder; the director of the…

In The Lord of the Flies by William Golding and The Dark Knight/ The Dark Knight Rises by Christopher Nolan, their common theme is that law and order in human society can only prevail when there are people fighting for it, otherwise the society will collapse into chaos. For Golding’s defense of this message, his book declares a very clear stance that law and order can only prevail when there are people supporting it, when that is lost, chaos will insume. The protagonist’s sidekick, Piggy, attempts to ensure that the law and order side of the matter will survive on the island and tries to convince his savage counterpart, Jack, that “to have rules and agree” is better than “to hunt and kill” (Golding 180). Piggy supports protecting the civilized…

My name is Carlos Aceves my research paper will be on discussing the pros and cons of Independent work or Corporate / Franchise employment. The reason I chose this topic is very simple. Being recently retired from the United States Military after 21 years of active service, my best way to enjoy my retirement is to choose to work independently, than to be working a 40 plus hour a week than just working at your own pace and time. Choosing independent work for me is that I will always have some time on my hands so I can keep occupied.…

August 22nd 2013 around 10 o’clock at night, the announcement that many cinematic comic book fans have long been awaiting arrived. With this announcement came many “boos”, and cheers, some misunderstandings and hatred. This is because actor and director Ben Affleck was awarded the role to play the new incarnation of the famous caped crusader Batman. His role as Daredevil, another costumed do-gooder, is one of the reasons that he is being doubt for the role. I myself was among the first to hear about this decision and as a teen in this day and age immediately took to Twitter only to find more hatred and scrutiny for the actor.…

The Dark Knight is a story about a well-known superhero, Batman, and his crime fighting adventures against villains, specifically, the Joker. There are a lot of different points in this movie that prove it really is an outstanding piece of art. There are a lot of things done well, like an interesting plot, well developed characters, thrilling scenes, and excellent actresses and actors. Many more acts of violence have led to the debate over whether they linked to these movies and video games.…

Relevant Scene I decided to choose a combination of scenes from the movie to show the progression of the character and to fully make my point across. The first scene, was when Alfred started to tell Bruce about his time in Burma. He spoke about a thief who was stealing jewels and how they were looking for him, when one day, he [Alfred] saw a kid playing with a jewel, and learned that the thief was just throwing away the jewels he stole. Bruce asks why would the thief steal them in the first place, and Alfred explains that the thief, like the Joker is a man who he does not understand fully either, and tells him how some men are not looking for anything logical, that they cannot "be bought, bullied, or negotiated with, as they just want…

As babies, we are born into the world with many possibilities that can occur for us and environments that can change us. For every individual that is born on this Earth, not only are we born into families that have varying characteristics, parenting styles, teaching styles, etc., we are born in to various environments and societies that can also shape how we develop as a person through the interactions we have with others and our experiences figuring out our environment. In Nigel’s case, he is an individual that has grown in the South American country in Columbia. Unlike North American countries such as the United States, Nigel grew up in a very collectivistic culture. A collectivistic culture is defined as “cultures in which people are considered…
