Being In The Middle School: The Importance Of Advice

Improved Essays
Advice is guidance or a recommendation, and everyone needs advice at some point in their life. If I were going to give advice to someone, it would be for my sister, Lily. The advice would be about how to succeed in sixth grade. The advice would be how to be organized, how to get homework done on time, how to get help and how to stay calm .

Being in middle school is a lot different from being in elementary school, the amount of homework is a huge difference. The amount of homework seems unreasonably large at first but, if you stay organized you will realize that it actually is not too much. Teachers are strict about your organizational skills and homework. Make sure you have a folder or a binder to keep your notes and assignments organized. Next, don't procrastinate when it comes to studying and doing homework this will cause you stress. Make sure that you do all your homework, you have to go somewhere, so you don't have to stress about getting it all done. Next, make sure that you write down when you have a test or quiz in your planner. It is also important to finish your homework on time because if you don't have it on time it is a 70. If you ever need help, your teachers mostly have tutoring hours in the morning, after school, and during knight time. To go to tutoring during knight time you need to have a pass to go to that teacher's class. Finally, you should not become stressed about test, quizzes, or projects, because if you are stressed you might not do as well.

Education is one of the most valued components in society. It was not until the Reconstruction Era after the Civil War that educational reforms began. However, it is concerning that public schools in the 21st century still follow a framework developed in the early 1900s. The current society has drastically changed in their values, culture, and overall modernization in comparison to the society of the early 1900s. According to What Every Middle School Teacher Should Know, by Dave F. Brown and Trudy Knowles, the structure of an average school day was based off the average factory workday.…

Belonging didn't really occur to me in middle school years. I was a very comfortable person with my friends and my surroundings. It only occurred to me at the beginning of my senior years that the friends I had were hypocritical and weren't the best people to hang out with. talking behind peoples back in their own friendship group and gossiping about the same people everyday wasn’t really my scene. After I left those friends I felt lost and confused like i hadn't really planned who i was going to be friends with and what I was going to do next.…
