To have money to spend on the things that you need and still have some left over to be able to buy the things that you want also is a goal all people strive for. When it comes to spending money "...wealth alone doesn’t provide any guarantee of a good life. What matters a lot more than a big income is how people spend it."(Blackman, Andrew) Helping people tends to make people happier than spending money on things they do not need. Letting money get to your head does not lead to happiness it only lets you be happy up to a point and after you reach that threshold it becomes more difficult to become happy. You can only "buy" so much happiness until you are unable to anymore. Having a safety net to fall back is a priority when you have plenty of money coming in.
