Also friend groups are a big influence on what the individual does. In most of my questionnaires people responded similar answer especially in the categories 12-14 and 14-16 and if they were girls it was even more common. this more than likely means that they were friends. Within society it is common to go with what others are doing as shown in my research.
Being excluded from society is not what anyone wants. This is why people will follow what is being done in society or even just among their friendship group. People do not want to not be liked or to be bullied. It is extremely bad for their self esteem and this will affect their well being. This is why individuals tend to stick with what their peers are doing. Even just walking around the school playground or into a classroom this can be picked up on. Individuals who have different interest or different belief will not very often sit together.
