Stepping out of your comfort zone to go jump into a burning building to save children trapped is courageous. Professionally trained assassins aren't afraid to kill someone that being courageous to save your own life and having to kill another is courageous. Saving a damsel in distress even though you are an accountant with no fighting experience is stepping out of your comfort zone and being courageous.

Courage involves a lot of fear factor. Fear can either make you fight or flight. The option to fight is what makes you courageous.
