The saying “old habits die hard” is very relatable in this type of situation. Many couples have a routine that keeps them in balance, but without the other it can cause an imbalance in that person’s life. With the imbalance that they feel, it can cause that person to lose interest in goals that they had set because of their partner such as working hard at your job or going to school for a better future for both of you. Without the drive and encouragement from their partner, someone may feel like life is pointless and meaningless. I’ve seen this happen first hand to my biological father when my mother divorced him. He started using drugs like crack and speed and lost interest in his family, work, and overall is own wellbeing. It was sad to watch and although we cared for our father, it didn’t help ease the pain he was feeling. Another example that I can give on this topic is myself. I had been in a serious relationship with someone I considered to be my best friend for almost two years. The break up was quick and unexplained and left me with a thousand questions of what went wrong. I started to lose interest in going to class and interacting with my family. I started sleeping most of my day away and had started feeling depressed. I had lost interest in my day to day
