Narrative Essay On Individualistic Life

The reason I have an individualistic mindset is because, my parents divorced when I was 3 years old, my mom wasn’t much of a factor in my life. I’ve seen my mom and step dad as alcoholics and some drug related issues. Living weekends in Wilmington California which for a white kid isn’t the most comfortable place to be. First, we lived in a motel for about a year and a half eating microwaved tortillas with butter, dry ramen noodles, mayo and bread, and on fancy occasions we would have canned taco meat with rice, beans, lettuce and hot sauce from jack in the box. We then moved into a shack one street over from the motel that was maybe 750 square. feet. Moving to this house is when life got a tad better, but not much we had a stove instead of just a microwave, but we lived in a rough neighborhood. And why didn’t she care? I never got these answers, but I found my own peace and I started to move on. One might say Austyn what does this have to do with being an individualistic minded person? I will explain. A lot of people rarely have to go through reoccurring adversity and have everything there for them growing up, they can come home every night to a loving mother, father, and siblings. Whenever I came home from school, I was alone and I didn’t have anyone to socialize with. This turned me into an individualistic minded person. I don’t depend on anyone in life most times because we cannot depend on other 's helping us complete tasks because they’ll have an excuse, they won’t do it, or they’ll just blow you off. This is what turned me into an individual. Through this, I taught myself how to complete most things for myself. After working through this rough time, my father passed away this summer due to various health complications, I lost my role model and the man who taught me to be the type of person. This turned me into a truly individualistic minded
