Being An American Surrogate Mother

Decent Essays
The video I watched was great. It was about how Tony Jiang and his wife turned to an American surrogate to extend their family. But for me to be a surrogate mother it would go against my moral and ethical beliefs. I think being a surrogate mother is not easy. I felt that special bond and connection with my unborn child from the first moment my doctor told me I was pregnant. During the first trimester, I truly slept all the time. However in my second trimester, I regained my energy, I looked and felt fantastic. I sung to my child and rubbed my stomach daily with warm honey, and each day I felt more and connection with my unborn child. I felt the instinct to love, and to protect my unborn child. My feeling and emotion changed for my child as

Last Sunday, my priest rambled about the ongoing election and who we should vote for as devout Catholics. He discreetly told us when he stated, “I voted for the candidate that does not support abortion. I voted for the candidate that sought to keep the Church’s ideals. When you vote, please remember the Church’s standards.” Essentially, my priest told all the attendants to vote for Trump because his presidency will prevent the practice of terminating unborn babies.…

In this interpretation paper, I wanted to talk about “On American Motherhood” the speech President Theodore Roosevelt gave to the National Congress of Mothers in March 13, 1905. When I first read the speech, I jotted down points I either agreed, found interesting and disagree with. Everyone has their own opinion on this speech and here is my conclusion. This speech was giving in front of the National Congress of Mother and it was intended for the lower and middle class of those times. He was referring this to them, because he was seeing the lost in what he called traditional families, were dad goes to work and mom stays home to take care of the babies and do the house work.…

Abortion is the planned termination of a human pregnancy. Several philosophers and activists have argued over if it is permissible. The author of A Defense of Abortion, Judith Jarvis Thomson, is correct about her argument that abortion is permissible even if the fetus is a person. This is because a woman’s right to bodily autonomy, which, combined with the woman’s own right to life, takes precedent over a fetus’s right to life. Even if people claim that she gave the fetus permission to be there, she should not be forced into going against her right to bodily autonomy.…

Surrogacy: Wombs for Rent - NATURAL LAW The purpose of this paper is to analyze three moral actions found in the media piece "Surrogacy: Wombs for Rent" based upon the principles of forfeiture and double effect found within the Natural Law Theory. In general, Natural Law is derived from seemingly unchangeable moral principles found in nature through the use of logical reasoning. As a result, Natural Law only creates vague but strict guidelines as to how a human should behave.…

In essence, there are many arguments to surrogate motherhood, but it has the potential to empower women when they are given authority over their bodies, and what they want to do with it. If what a woman chooses to do with her body involves bearing a baby for another who cannot, then who is to say “no” to infertile couples, homosexuals, and single individuals that deeply desire a child. Regardless of how the baby was conceived, the attention should be focused on if they are raised in a happy and healthy living environment with a family that…

In my opinion the baby box is a good alternative for mothers who feel they can’t care for a baby. I do agree with some of the points people made about how it could cause issues in the child’s future since they have no record of who their parents are or where they come from, but in the end the children are given a better life and cared for out of love. As for this system being used in the U.S. I think it’s fine as long as it isn’t abused, by that I mean mothers just getting rid of children for no reason. In conclusion I believe that what Pastor Lee is doing is a very good thing, he seems very passionate about it and obviously loves all of the children he takes in. As for baby boxes in America I didn’t learn as much about them from the documentary…

Film Analysis: Baby Mama 1. Introduction Michael McCullers film “Baby Mama” is based on the idea of infertility and surrogacy. This film was produced in 2008 by Micheal McCullers. Overall, I thought this film was an excellent film because it was comical and kept the audience engaged. However, from a sociological perspective this film left out a lot of important aspects of surrogacy such as the many people who endure endless amounts of boundaries when it comes to infertility treatments which resulted in a lack of realistic component to the film.…

    Essay On Sex Surrogacy

Sex surrogacy is seen as a highly controversial form of sex therapy. There have been claims made against it claiming that it is too similar to prostitution, and therefore should be considered illegitimate because it is perceived as being immoral. It has also been put into question because many think that the intimacy shared in this process can become problematic for those involved because they may develop feelings that can be damaging in the long run. Overall, I think that sex surrogacy is a questionable practice. I do not necessarily believe that it should be illegal, but I do not believe that it should be widely practiced either.…

Issues might arise with the gestational mother not detaching herself from the child, or wanting too much or too little involvement in the child life, depending on the parents’ wishes. The surrogate goes through an emotional process as do the parents whose child she is carrying and thus consequences may happen and everything does not always go smoothly. To add to that, a very talked about ethical issue is that surrogacy is being thought of as a luxury, but comes up is that it is actually a business in many parts of the world using women as almost like machines to make a profit. That kind of tragic things make people wonder why couples do not adopt and start comparing the ups and downs of both, marking yet another issue. All in all, surrogacy is still used worldwide despite the controversy and ethical issue that are surrounding…
