Being An American Culture Essay

When you hear the word Culture most people reference a social atmosphere, certain food, a sport, or a religion that’s tied to a specific place. Whatever interpretation you have of culture the reality is, Culture is defined as: “a set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization” (3). Being culturally aware of other countries gives you a better understanding of where your own country stands overall. Whether you value patriotism, economic growth, or being a world leader, there is something to gain from cross examining other nations. The terrain is great for year round (authorized) hunting, traveling and outdoor camping activities. With the main languages spoken there being Swedish and English, it has become a top tourist choice for Americans. Before becoming a monarchy government in the 1900’s, Sweden fought for dominance of their land for 200+ years between neighboring countries like Russia. In the 1980’s the importance for defense against the Global War on Terrorism grew, so Sweden established the Swedish Armed forces to counter that (3).
