There are so many different types of men; but what is an African man? Different philosophers and poets define an African man in many different ways. An African man is basically known to be a hunter, strong, powerful and to understand nature more than anything. An African man has endurance, patience, pride, love and hate at the same time. These qualities become visible and evident in an African man’s everyday life, depending on the environment and the situation at that moment. An African man loves nature, and most of the time depends on it for survival. This essay is going to discuss about an African man and I will give my own explanation of what an African man is.
Many explanations and arguments have been brought to light by writers, trying to define to the world what a man is. Thomas Hobbes defines a man as being basically evil, Jean-Jacques Rousseau defines a man as being basically good and John Locke defines a man a being neutral. This lad had written a letter of complaint to the headmaster about the quality of food they eat at school. Instead of the headmaster looking into this matter from the lad's view, he expelled him (the lad) from school. This proves again that an African man is able to express his feelings and thoughts although he knows that doing so may get him into some trouble and things may not go his way. The lad did not write the letter for his own benefit only but for each and every learner in the school because the quality of the food was hated by everyone.
