Being against gay marriage does categorize you as homophobic. What defines homophobia is when you have “Prejudice or dislike against homosexual people.” Although standing against same-sex marriage and being homophobic is not wrong, having prejudice and dislike against anything does categorize you as “anti” it. In greater detail, the definition of a phobia is “Having or involving an extreme or irrational fear of, or aversion to something.” Therefore having an aversion toward same-sex marriage means you have a strong dislike or disinclination of it which categories you as opposed.
