If I hadn’t been adopted, I wouldn’t know where I would be. According to my mother, I would’ve most likely died from malnutrition. Therefore, I’d say that being adopted was one of the most, if not the most significant moment in my life. If I hadn’t, my life would be completely different, or maybe I wouldn’t have even lived. Being adopted has altered my entire life and how I’ve lived it. Now, as I look back, I appreciate the fact that I was adopted. I believe that as I was adopted, I’m more aware and appreciative of the life I’ve been given. I’m more aware of the circumstances that brought me to being adopted and understand why my biological parents gave me up. I’m also more aware of myself and how I grew because I was adopted. I grew up knowing that I wasn’t my mother’s biological child, I took pride in the fact I was different. I grew up knowing that I was unique because I was adopted and never looked down upon myself for it. Being adopted gave me more confidence in who I am and who my family
