Ever since I could remember I loved the feeling of being able to help people. There is a career that allows you to do that every day you’re on the job. Social Workers help people in many ways. Some social workers help children that are in need, children that are abused, and social workers that council people. I want to be able to help kids in bad situation, because I use to be in one. I know the feeling of not living in the best environment for a child.
5 For this career you have to go to college. The most common degree you would need to get yourself into this career is a bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree just behind that (Social Workers 1). 6 There are many colleges available in this career. For example, you need to consider relationships important, consider achievement important, consider independence important, consider good working conditions important, and consider support from the employer important (Social Worker 16). 11 Being a Social Worker definitely has its up’s and down’s. The type of Social Worker I would like to be, Child Care Social Worker, get to ensure that children are safe and healthy. Child Care Social Workers also get to make sure that low-income children get what they need, along with pregnant mothers (Social Workers 2). These are some satisfactions that will make you feel good when you get off the job. It can make you day helping children that do not get enough love and attention, help kids that do not get what the necessities are, and helping pregnant mothers. 12 Along with the good there has to be a bad. That would be having to separate families. When I was taken from my parents when I was little, I hated Child Care Social Workers. I didn’t know why they took my brother and I.
