Communication is what a person uses every day and every moment to send a massage across to other person, by creating meaning through symbolic interaction. Now a days as we are in modern era. We have advance technology to communicate with people around as but also people around the word. However, advance technology still lack characteristics of face to face communication in many ways.
As being a person form different country communication played an important role through my life and I think I do as long as I live on this earth. Face to face communication and mediated communication play every big role thorough out our friendship. Yes, it had many similarities but many difference at the same time. Different in a way that during face to face communication one can see another in front of him and judge by their verbal and non- verbal ( body language) communication. While in mediated communication, it is hard to know the person one is texting, emailing or writing to because one can cover up the identity of himself. During our communication all through the semester face to face communication and mediated communication played totally different roles. In face to face communication I was always slow to catch sing language because of my first year in sing language. In face to face communication I was shy because I was always worried to not do any wrong sing and get myself embarrassed. Even though people might think that deaf people do not have verbal communication because they cannot talk at all. One day I discovered that she send me a face book friend request. I felt really happy. We use to chat every day and after I while I discovered that mediated communication was a lot essay for me then face to face communication. When I use to chat with her I was more confident and I was not shy anymore because there was no sign language or embarrassing moments involved. I thought that Mediated communication changed my identity totally because I was not shy anymore; I was able to explain my thoughts more through my written words and I was also been able to develop strong friendship with my friend.
However, the characteristics of Mediated communication influence issues such as presence or the development of trust. As identity is covered up and unknown to other whom has access to the information in online setting like Facebook or twitter it could be hard to judge and trust the person whom one is chatting with as other person does not know any personal information of other
