Being a parent and having your child get pregnant at a young age is hard to accept. In today’s society it is becoming less uncommon for a young lady, fewer than twenty, to become pregnant. "In 2013, a total of 273,105 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a live birth rate of 26.5 per 1,000 women in this age group (Teen pregnancy CDC)".
If I had a fourteen year old daughter tell me she was pregnant it would be a shock to me. At first I would probably have no words. I 'm positive I would have a lot of emotions all at once about the situation. For parents who have had this type of experience, I wonder what their reactions were. I think I would be more in shock about the situation but I wouldn 't react to anything until I assessed the situation and had time to think and let it sink in. "Some parents feel a sense of guilt, thinking that if only they 'd done more to protect their child this wouldn 't have happened. And although some parents are embarrassed by their teen 's pregnancy and worried about how family, friends, and neighbors will react, others are happy about the news of a soon-to-be grandchild — especially if the teen is older and in a mature relationship (kidshealth)". I think I would experience every emotion but I wouldn 't react with rage or over react because even though parents have "the talk" with their kids but things still happen.
