Being A Haptic Learning Style

As a child, I could never pay attention to anything. I was alway fidgety and I couldn’t get things done in a timely manner. I always have hated school because of how hard it was to stay focused or I could never find my homework that I knew I had done. I could never understand why I couldn’t focus, I didn’t have ADHD or ADD. Going from grade to grade, school got a little easier and I could pay attention a little better. I learned later in life, my learning style was called Haptic. A haptic learning style is for someone who is unorganized, fidgety and doesn’t care how long it takes to get finished. There are several advantages to having a haptic learning style. I can remember anything, I have a great imagination and I sometimes get done faster than other people. This could also be considered a visual learner. I have to see things to understand, but once I see it, I can do it. I loved using the little building blocks in math when I was in elementary school. I can never find anything, I waste so much time by not following directions when building something, I can make myself sound stupid by not being able to think of the words to say at the right moment and it can get very frustrating. As a child, I was yelled at by my parents and teachers because I could not keep up with my homework and when I did find it, it was all wadded up in the bottom of my backpack. My teachers told me early on, I needed to get organized to be able to make it through school. Worst of all, I could never focus on anything. I have had to read the same page in book seven times before I even remotely knew what it was talking about. I could not comprehend anything because I couldn’t focus. I would think about everything else in the world while I was trying to read anything. I wish I could have been able to pay attention, it would have made it easier to
