Being A Follower Of Jesus

Decent Essays
I became a Christian when I was 5 years old with my father by my side. It happened the night after I went to church and heard about God and knew that Jesus was the way to heaven. I kneeled down that night with my father 's help to ask Jesus into my heart to save me from my sins. Even though I made this life changing decision at a young age, I have grown in my relationship with my Lord. While growing up in a Christian home, I would go to church every Sunday and Wednesday night. I was involved in my youth group as much as possible while participating in special music and instrument playing during the Sunday morning worship service. As I was learning more about God through the sermons and worship songs that I attended each week, I began to think about the next steps of being a follower of Jesus. When I was 10 years old, I made the decision to get baptized during a Sunday night church service. As I continue to learn more about God, I strive to become more like my Savior each and every day. By having this craving to get to know Christ more, I decided to apply to the University of Northwestern-St. Paul and work towards receiving a Bible minor. Even though the journey of achieving a Bible minor has been difficult, I have learned so much more than I could have ever hoped for. Through the chapels that I attend at least three times a week, I am being influenced by the pastors and organizations that are striving to make a difference in the world through sharing God 's word.

Electing to attend Multnomah University has been both a rewarding and challenging experience. Throughout my college years, my professors modeled how to live a biblical worldview as I studied Bible, Theology, Greek and Hebrew. Because of those teachers, I learned how to study the Bible and the importance of practicing what I preach. The classroom cultivated an excitement to learn the truth and minister it to others.
