Linda, I've known a couple of pastors who have had the wonderful skill of being critical thinkers. It sounds like your dad had a great ability with critical thinking too. I think that a very important part of being a critical thinker is the ability to put aside one's own personal feelings in order to consider all aspects of an issue. Being able to consider all of the various details and possibilities, both positive and negative, I feel is a great talent. Also, I think just the ability that critical thinkers have of taking the necessary time to listen, and then to be able to effectively communicate their thoughts about a topic is truly a great
