How about, are you okay with the individual you have become today? As I sit and ponder my thoughts trying to figure out who I am, and what my purpose is in life. I cannot help but think of these previous questions. I for one am trying to better my life not just for myself but for my two children. I want them to see a mother who is happy, an inspiration for them to be all they can be. If they see me as anything less, I feel as though I failed to deliver them a great childhood. Being a Christian this day in age can be difficult. There are individuals trying to kill us, make us think we are bad people, and even make us second guess ourselves. However, I have not accomplished a lot as a Christian. I have not done all I can in the Christian faith, whether it be at church or home. The tasks I have done in my life, I honestly feel as though I am a bad person. I have done a lot to be proud of and just as much to be ashamed of myself. In a Perfect World “All that we call human history - money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery - is the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.” – C.S. Lewis. How much better of a world would we find ourselves in today if all of the “long terrible story” had never been told? I believe we might feel more joy and less despair in our lives, find comfort everywhere, and embrace unity. We might even see our path in life more clearly and catch the sweet fragrance of hope stronger than ever before.…

Chapter 3 of Doing the Truth in Love by Michael Himes revolves around the idea of restlessness. Himes introduces the chapter with St.Augustine’s discovery that “humans are fundamentally restless” (Himes 39). In my life, I have never really noticed it, but I am constantly restless.
